Jean Giese has worked in senior roles in the community industry for over a decade and has a wealth of experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating projects and collaborations that foster inclusion. She passionately advocates that inclusion is fostered through reducing barriers to participation in volunteering and access to community information. Outside her role as CEO, Jean is an avid volunteer, as a Board Director, MC, and trivia host extraordinaire. Jean is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a Bachelor of International Relations and a range of industry-specific qualifications.

Dan leads a team of professionals delivering high quality services within the organisation which includes Human Resources, IT, WHS, Risk, Programs and Community Information. Since joining VolunteeringACT in 2020, Dan has worked with the CEO and Executive team to manage risk, deliver effective HR strategies, enhance operational effectiveness and implementation of policies and procedures in line with the organisational goals.  

Dan has overseen multiple projects with VolunteeringACT, including the Food Security Program and the upgraded tech for our Community info Hub. 

Prior to joining VolunteeringACT, Dan held senior positions in the recreation and fitness industry across the ACT. 

Dan has qualifications in Management, Strategic Negotiation and Financial Modelling and forecasting.

Cath manages our dynamic and multi-talented Sector Development Team, delivering Marketing and Communications activities, Membership, Training, Events, Corporate Volunteering, and Sector networking activities.  

Cath also leads our Policy and Advocacy work and is responsible for developing and managing effective strategic partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.  

Cath joined VolunteeringACT in 2021, bringing extensive experience in strategic policy and senior leadership from a range of roles across the Community, Public, Private and Social Enterprise sectors in both the UK and Australia.  

Cath is a qualified Change Management Practitioner and uses her passion for human-centred design and systems change to connect strategic policy with operations, promoting best practices and continuous improvement. 

Outside of work Cath can always be found making music and bursting into song!

Lou is a commercially focused professional senior finance and business executive with over 35 years’ experience in organisational financial and management report building and delivery. In addition, Lou’s roles incorporated tax, advisory, corporate services multifunctional disciplines, HR, procurement, projects & contracts, and ICT management.

He brings to VolunteeringACT a genuine passion for volunteering spanning 45 years, starting as a 15-year-old, cooking bacon and egg rolls at the local soccer grounds and has continued throughout his life. His other passion is soccer (football) which combines his love for the world game and volunteering as a representative coach, referee, and administrator.

Becc is committed to inclusion and celebrating diversity. Becc joined the VolunteeringACT team in 2018 as part of the Inclusive Volunteering Program, which she continues to manage. Becc also leads the Community Info Hub team and other inclusive programs.  

Becc is passionate about codesign and cocreation, establishing participant advisory groups to advise VolunteeringACT’s work in supporting people with disability and newly arrived migrants.  

Becc has been working in the not-for-profit sector for 14 years in both Australia and Cambodia, across a variety of roles including case management, leading teams and providing psychosocial support.  

In her spare time, Becc can be found by the sea or on it! She loves boating, spending time on the beach and caring for her two fur babies.
