Nominations for the 2013 ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards are now open.
The Awards are organised by Volunteering ACT and proudly sponsored by Community CPS.
The Awards offer Canberrans the opportunity to publicly recognise the generous voluntary service of individual volunteers and teams of volunteers who make such a difference to our city.
This year nominations are invited for both individuals and teams in the following categories:
Arts & Environment
Community Care and Health
Education, Science & Technology
Sport & Recreation
Young Person (Under 25)
In addition, in celebration of Canberra’s 100th Birthday, there is a special category to nominate an individual who has contributed over 50 years of voluntary service to our community.
Andrew Barr, Minister for Community Services said “We hope to see many organisations across Canberra taking the opportunity to publicly recognise the volunteers who contribute so much to our community everyday and who are the essence of what Canberra is all about.”

“We are delighted to again be hosting the ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards, especially in such a special year to reflect on all that volunteers have done to make our city what it is today” said Maureen Cane, CEO of Volunteering ACT.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held during National Volunteer Week in the second week of May at Old Parliament House.
